Dubai, 1st of April, 2014: UL is pleased to announce that the local test center for MasterCard Formal Approval Services for Card Personalization Validation (CPV) and Terminal Integration Process (M-TIP) certifications opens its doors today. These services are now delivered directly from Dubai to support the Middle East and Africa region, enabling a faster time-to-market and local support in the region.
MasterCard Formal Approval Services could already be ordered from UL’s offices worldwide; now they are also being delivered directly from UL’s office in Dubai.
Berend van Geffen, Commercial Director at UL Transaction Security, said: “UL is pleased to further extend its service offering into the region. The market in this region is becoming increasingly important for UL and we can now intensify our commitment to support issuers and acquirers worldwide in reducing risks and time-to-market of their chip projects.”
UL was accredited in June 2011 by MasterCard Worldwide to deliver chip implementation services for MasterCard Card Personalization Validation (CPV) and Terminal Integration Process (M-TIP) services. In the MasterCard Formal Approval Services test center in Dubai, we validate whether cards that carry MasterCard products and POS’s or ATM’s that accept MasterCard branded cards and mobile devices meet the quality and interoperability requirements specified by MasterCard. MasterCard mandates issuers and acquirers introducing a new or modified card or terminal to apply for the CPV or M-TIP Formal Approval Services of MasterCard Worldwide. This enables early detection of issues which tends to reduce cost and the time-to-market.
“We look forward to further working together with MasterCard issuers and acquirers worldwide to enable compliance and interoperability by delivering expert services and the most up-to-date test tools to the market. Come and see us at Cards & Payments Middle East in May where we can answer all your MasterCard CPV or M-TIP related questions,” added van Geffen.
